Mercedes-Benz has revealed the facelifted C-Class coupé and cabriolet ahead of their planned public debut at next week’s New York motor show. The appearance of the reworked two-door C-Class models follows the unveiling of the facelifted four-door C-Class saloon and estate at the recent Geneva motor show. Along with some predictably subtle exterior styling tweaks and upgraded interior appointments, they have a series of midlife mechanical changes, including a more powerful engine in the four-wheel-drive C43 4Matic. That model retains the same turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine used by the predecessor saloon, estate, coupé and cabriolet models, but gains an additional 23bhp (to 386bhp) while running the same 383lb ft of torque as before. Italian design house Pininfarina will launch an all-electric hypercar with the performance to rival the Bugatti Chiron. The new hypercar will be a halo model for an electric vehicle line-up that will make Pininfarina a manufacturer in its own right. With an initial investment of $100 million (about £71.6m) from Indian parent company Mahindra, the yet-to-be announced Pininfarina car company is being headed by former Audi India boss Michael Perschke. The aim is to produce four cars over five years. It’s referred to internally as Project Montana and likely to be called Pininfarina Automobili. Its top model, codenamed PF-Zero, will be joined by three SUVs. The biggest, codenamed PF-One, will be a high performance answer to the Lamborghini Urus. Specialist premium car finance provider JBR Capital has revealed the ten cars from the Geneva International Motor Show for which it has received the most finance enquiries – and the costs for potential buyers. JBR offers finance to private owners and businesses for classic, prestige and racing cars, lending as much as £10m for the purchase of highly specialised machines. The recent Geneva show included several manufacturers unveiling extremely high-end vehicles, including Nurburgring lap record holders, contenders to be the world's fastest car and limited production racing cars. The car most enquiries centered on was the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder. This convertible version of Lamborghini's V10 roadgoing track toy would cost £238,000 if you showed up with cash in hand. A month after showcasing the MY 2018 Land Cruiser  Prado  at the Auto Expo, Toyota has silently launched it in India at a price of Rs 92.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). For roughly Rs 3.74 lakh more than the outgoing model, the Prado now gets cosmetic updates inside and out, and a whole lot of features and tech. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado now looks more handsome than before, losing the droopy headlights for simple but smart looking ones that mimic those on the larger LC200. The grille is also petite, as compared to the older car, and has been raised to increase the Prado’s water wading capability by up to 0.7 metres, claims Toyota. The bonnet slants gently to improve visibility from the inside, while the bumpers are fitted with new LED fog lamps. Workers at German sports cars maker  Porsche  are pocketing bonuses of up to nearly 10,000 euros. German luxury carmaker Porsche on Wednesday said it would pay workers a special bonus of up to 9,656 euros ($11,800) each to celebrate a record year, even as the industry grapples with a series of scandals. Porsche said it wanted to reward staff for "the most successful year in the company's history" after it delivered a record 246,000 vehicles in 2017, boosting revenues by five percent to 23.5 billion euros. The payout will consist of a gross bonus of 8,600 euros plus a 700-euro contribution to staff pension schemes, Porsche said. On top of that, workers will receive a one-off payout of 356 euros to mark the 70th anniversary of the Porsche 356 sports car.
